Mühlbach is situated in an idyllic valley full of green pastures surrounded by the Mandlwand and the Hochkönig.
Hochkönig's history goes back a long way: 4000 years ago the Illyrians came to mine copper and by the end of the 19th century the region was characterized by copper mining. Today people come to Mühlbach to enjoy nature and spend the most beautiful season of the year here. In summer, as in winter, the landscape is a veritable paradise for both explorers and bon vivants. The strange rock formations of the Mandlwände and the Hochkönig behind the lush meadows provide a unique panorama that is highly valued by nature lovers, hikers and cyclists.
Particularly for families, Mühlbach has a great deal to offer. In summer at least twice as many animals live here as people, transforming Mühlbach into the Mountain Village of Animals every summer.
Over 30 appealing attractions including several petting zoos, a flying fox park, an archery trail and much more thrill visitors of all ages.
In winter, skiers buckle up and enjoy amazing ski days on the 120 seamlessly connected kilometres of slopes around the Hochkönig, hurtle down on toboggans or trek through glistening untouched snow on snowshoes.
