Gastein is known for maintaining old traditions and customs. Every year on the summer solstice, numerous mountain fires are lit - this year on Saturday, 24th of June 2023. Locals hike up the mountains to light their bonfires and celebrate the longest day and shortest night of the year. As soon as it gets dark, strings of lights stretch across the mountain peaks and fascinating fire symbols emerge. You can experience a particularly magnificent view on the 360° Stubnerkogel lookout mountain at 2,300 metres in Bad Gastein.
