Enjoy big adventures with your little ones
...and the highest point in Styria.
You can reach the Dachstein Glacier, at 2,700 metres above sea level, in just 10 minutes on the Panorama gondola, with its panoramic windows. With the Sky Walk, Ice Palace , a 100-metre long suspension bridge and the “Stairway to Nothingness”, the Dachstein Glacier has numerous attractions apart from the view, and offers families a unique experience.
This is where children don’t just learn to ski, they learn to love skiing!
Little ones can have fun practising their first turns on numerous adventure pistes and children’s playgrounds. The region’s highest point is a unique experience – the Dachstein Glacier has a suspension bridge, the Stairway to Nothingness and the Ice Palace to offer, and easy-peasy slopes too, as well as its stunning views.
Tip: Stop off at the Rösteralm for thrilling snowtubing tracks and regional dishes.
More than 56 km of blue pistes
Three extensive snowparks for novices and children, ski resorts with lots of easy pistes for the whole family and highly qualified ski instructors in the three villages‘ ski schools make the Gastein valley an extremely family-friendly ski resort in Salzburger Land.
The Schlossalm-Angertal-Stubnerkogel and Dorfgastein ski resorts have more than 56 km of blue slopes in total. And the local snowparks offer magic carpets, gates, rails, themed characters, a snowtubing course and much more.
Kids can look forward to many great adventures as they have fun learning to ski, accompanied by the Gastein valley mascot, Gasti.
Truly a winter paradise for the whole family
With 120 kilometres of pistes and 33 modern cable cars and lifts, the Hochkönig ski region is truly a winter paradise for the whole family. Boys and girls can practise their first turns in peace on the extensive, wide slopes, whilst youngsters hone their tricks in the funpark. When the kids are busy in the ski school or visitor’s kindergarten, mum and dad can enjoy a ski tour on their own, or go off piste.

Fischbach Adventure Meadow
Full of excitement, delighted little toddlers trot eagerly towards Fischbach Adventure Meadow, where they are immediately faced with the choice of whether to ski, toboggan, take a bobsleigh ride, slide in snow, dash through fun obstacles or just have fun? Or to do everything at once?
As much choice as children’s hearts could wish for...
...the Fischbach Adventure Meadow makes their wishes come true
A button lift, whisks novice skiers upwards quickly and comfortably. The wide, flat field is the perfect place to practise your first turns and, before too long, even novice skiers will proudly sail into the mountains on the Großarltal-Dorfgastein ski circus gondola lift, even if there is still so much to discover in the valley. A fun contoured run with snow tunnels runs parallel to the practice slope.
