How about gliding along the panorama trail above the Dachstein mountain range early in the morning? In Ramsau am Dachstein you can do exactly that! The world’s longest glacier cross-country trail is located at 2,700 metres above sea level in a breathtaking mountain setting. Cross-country skiing fun at its best!

The skis glide smoothly through the track or speed alternately across the groomed trail in a V-style. No matter how intensively you approach cross-country skiing, the sport trains the whole body: arms, legs, back and stomach. In the Gastein Valley, you can experience the sport on 35 kilometres of trails as varied as the landscape itself, the ideal outdoor fitness studio. On the unique high plateau of Sportgastein at 1,500 metres you can marvel at the 3,000-metre peaks of the National Park. The Angertal has fairytale forest passages in store and in Dorfgastein you can enjoy the idyll of the tranquil village by floodlight.
You’d like to have a little cross-country skiing session in the evening? At night when the moon illuminates the nighttime trail, cross-country skiers can glide over the two tracks on the Hochkönig. What’s more, there are also high-altitude trails with a total length of 40 kilometres specifically for the Nordic sport.

25 kilometres of groomed cross-country pleasure await skiers in Grossarl and Hüttschlag. Alongside classic cross-country skiing, experienced Nordic winter athletes demonstrate their skills on a skating track.
Tip: On Tuesdays, Thursday and Fridays, night owls can get excited about the floodlit nighttime trail in Hüttschlag and on Monday, Wednesday and Friday in Großarltal!
